229 comics history

Hello and thanks for stopping by..

This page is part of my creative network.. 229 comics is mostly horror based work right now..

Much of it is fairly graphic in nature, uses explicit language and is geared towards the mature adult reader..

229 comics has been enjoyed by readers around the world..

There are plans in the future for some crime drama, action and more humor related work

but for now the main attraction is FESTER, an ongoing online graphic novel

which I started as a means to build my photoshop skills..

Episode 8 is currently underway.. You can browse through the episodes and see that

I've experimented with many different methods, and still am..FESTER started out as

a single drawing. I wanted to do something that was a throwback to my youth,

when I did allot of horror themed art for my band and for myself personally.

FESTER has never had a script of any kind of storyboard up until Episode 8,

which may be why that installment has been dragging along at a snails pace.

It comes right from my head, the story is created as I do the art and that's what it is

going to return to. Not allot of it is supposed to make sense to anybody but me,

at least at the moment. If you do have an idea of what you believe is going on

I'd love to hear it. It would be interesting to see if anyone has picked up on it yet.

In the beginning the art was very minimalistic and loose. As I started getting

deeper into the Photoshop program the art took a sudden and stark turn into

something much more graphic. Episodes 6 and 7 are illustrated much differently

than the previous episodes. I was experimenting with a much sharper look.

In Episode 8 I begin to weave the loose minimalistic sketchy look of

Episodes 1-5 in with the more graphic sharp illustration

of Episodes 6 and 7 , and I believe I am beginning to find

a balance that will define future installments of FESTER

and other future 229 comics series..

I've enjoyed it and I hope you enjoy it as well..

Sharpes Pointe is another horror story based around the Baltimore area..

Sharpes Pointe is a project that has been in the working for a long time..

I wrote the rough draft for the script while I was living in Federal Hill just

before moving back to Atlanta.. It took me a long time to edit it but I actually did

a 370+ page storyboard for this series. When I started it off I was working under a deadline,

I did not give the illustraions the proper attention and that being the case I am

going back through to re illustrate the series from the beginiing..

Page 1 is the only part that will remain, Page 2 has been reposted and

more installments will soon follow..

The Gang is a story inspired by life growing up in small town Annapolis Maryland..

Back when it still was a small town..

Notice I say INSPIRED by and not BASED on

because nothing in the Gang is actually based on reality..

It's a piece that will be both twisted and funny..

Just something I doodle in between projects...

And Escape from the Grove , which is something I dug out of a box in my mom's attic

about 6 years ago..I must have been 15 when i wrote and illustrated that,

it's good for a laugh every time I read it

but also has alot of inside humor that would only make sense to the people

who were in that same school with me at that time..

In fact I think if a kid wrote somehting like that

today they would get picked up by the feds..

Still a fun read for anybody with a twisted sense of humor..
